Joan M. Foos, 92, of Fremont, OH passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Valley View Care Center. She was born on August 5, 1932 in Fremont, OH to Urban and Gertrude (Wasserman) Fisher. Joan was a 1950 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School.
Joan married Clarence Foos on November 25, 1965 and he preceded her in death on August 25, 2009. She worked for Ohio Bell as a telephone operator and then became a homemaker. Joan was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Rosay Society. Joan was also a member of the Friendly Singles and a pinochle card club.
Joan is survived by her son Thomas (Barbara) Foos, Millbury, OH; stepdaughter, Phyllis (Jim Hatch) Foos, Toledo, OH; daughter-in-law, Cherie Clark, Charlotte, NC; sisters-in-law, Ethel Fisher and Phyllis Fisher, both of Fremont, OH; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Fisher, stepson, Paul Foos; brothers, Howard, Lawrence, Paul, Leon, George, Roman and Norman Fisher; sisters, Linda Etzel, Marie Shammo and Alice Fisher.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 10:00 am to Noon at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home & Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420.
Services will begin at the funeral home following visitation at Noon with Sr. Regina Fisher officiating.
Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her honor to Sacred Heart Catholic Church; 550 Smith Rd, Fremont, OH 43420.
