Joan S. Groh
Joan S. Groh, age 90, of Erie, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 21, 2025. She was born in Buffalo, NY, on April 4, 1935.
Joan grew up in Buffalo, NY and graduated from Kenmore H.S. She worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield in her early twenties. She married the love of her life on October 1, 1960. She went back to work for the Millcreek Twp. School District in various school cafeterias.
She had a lifetime passion for art and produced beautiful, inspired paintings which brought nature to life. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and reading novels. She loved being around her grandchildren and would often times sit and play with each one. Compassionate is an adjective that best describes her personality.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, David M. Groh and her four children: Raymond Groh (Vicky), Daniel Groh (Terri). Diane Groh Pauli (Jason), and Paul Groh (Melissa), ten grandchildren: Marybeth, Timothy, Nathan, Stephen, Emily, Camden, Logan, Mason, McKenzie, and Bryce, and one great-grandson Ivan.
A small graveside celebration will occur on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at 2 pm at the Cremation Garden at Laurel Hill Cemetery. All arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd.

Our church family at FlightPath Fellowship will miss her bright smile and gentle soul. Safe in the arms of Jesus.

Ms. Joan was such a wonderful elder and woman of GOD! She was a bright light when she graced us with her presence at the Glenwood YMCA Tea Ministry every Tuesday between 10 and 12.

She would pray and share her testimonies and words of wisdom with us.

I will always remember visiting her home and discovering what a phenomenal artist she was. It was this past winter and she wanted Mr. David to get us pictures from the shed. We insisted that he did go out in the cold.

She was our Proverbs 31 and Titus woman.

God bless and keep each of you.
