Joan Hogberg, age 90, of Burlington, died Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
Born January 30, 1933, in Moline, IL, she was the daughter of John and Gladys (Lamb) Holst. On May 6, 1951, she married Wayne Hogberg in Burlington, IA.
Joan was a graduate of Burlington High School in 1951. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, bowling and gardening. She loved her church, First Christian Church, and appreciated worshipping with her church family. Moreover, she loved raising her family. Her husband, children and grandchildren meant the world to her. Her passing leaves an emptiness in our hearts, but her legacy will continue on through all who love her.
Her family include her children, Steve (Karen) Hogberg, Shawn (Cindy) Hogberg, and Scott (Sandy) Hogberg; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Sadly, Joan is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; daughter, Susan; sisters, Barbara Lant, Delores Kester and Ruth Ann Eastland; and parents, John and Gladys.
Joan's family will receive guests for visitation at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Saturday, September 23, from 10:00AM to 11:00AM.
The funeral service for Mrs. Hogberg will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 23, 2023, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Reverend David J. Yonker and Reverend Anika McVay officiating. Joan will be laid to rest beside her husband at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Joan's honor are suggested to Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
