Joan King Obituary

Joan was born on February 9, 1933, in Mercedes, Texas, and grew up in Weslaco. She attended Saint Mary's School of Nursing in Galveston, graduating in 1954. She went on to practice nursing in various capacities before becoming a flight attendant for PanAm. She met John W. King in Enid, Oklahoma while they were both on military duty. They were married in May of 1960 and settled in Watsonville, where they raised their two beloved daughters.
Amongst her many accomplishments, she was instrumental in starting Lift Line, a transportation service for people with disabilities. She also loved animals and spent a lot of time volunteering for animal rescue projects. She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Dr. John W. King, and her daughters, Jeanne Eileen King, and Suzanne Caroline King.
