Joan V. (Murray) Liedike, 92, formerly of Perkiomenville, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Jefferson Lansdale Hospital. She was reunited with her loving husband, Edwin J. Liedike, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage before his passing in 2015.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Violet C. (Goodfellow) Murray.
Joan was a graduate of Frankford High School in Philadelphia.
Her life was centered around her family. She was a loving wife, mother of four, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished time spent with her family and was always their biggest supporter. Joan enjoyed entertaining and hosting family and friends' gatherings. She was always excited about her latest sewing project, and was an avid baker of many delicious desserts.
Joan was a member of St. Philip Neri Church in Pennsburg. As a member of the KnitWits Club, she donated her time knitting blankets for the Linus Project at Spring House Estates where she was residing. She also loved spending time with her friends and engaging in crafts and other activities.
Her legacy will live on in her surviving four children, Patricia, wife of Nicholas Tosi of Blue Bell; Charles Liedike and wife, Carol of West Chester; Teresa, wife of Mark Sands of Lafayette Hill and Christine, widow of Anthony Vattimo of Williamstown, NJ, 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Joan is predeceased by her parents, husband, and brothers Allan and Edward Murray.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Pennsburg. There will be a viewing from 10 AM to 11 AM at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville.
