Joan E. (Mason) Linehan, age 96, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at the Life Care Center of Leominster on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Woburn on May 6, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Susan E. (L'Hote) Mason. Her parents were the founders of the Chelmsford Trailer Park, a place that would become central to Joan's life and legacy. For over 60 years, Joan was the dedicated manager of the Chelmsford Trailer Park. During her remarkable tenure, she fostered a vibrant community, creating countless fond memories and enduring friendships with residents.
Joan was truly the matriarch of her family and the heart of her community. Her door was always open, and she was known for her warm embrace and a kind word for everyone she met. Though she never had children of her own, she poured her boundless love into her nieces and nephews, who were like her own children. Her unwavering support and generosity touched many lives.
Joan is survived by her sister, Joyce Lemire of Westford; many nieces and nephews; and many grand and great nieces and nephews.
Sadly, she is predeceased by her siblings, Emily and Al Anderson of Braintree, Frank E. and Phyllis Mason of Burlington, Shirley E. and Edward Chepulis of Burlington, Harold McLatchy of Westford, Robert Mason of Chelmsford, and Leo Linehan.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 10 am at Pine Ridge Cemetery, 130 Billerica Road, CHELMSFORD. KINDLY MEET AT THE CEMETERY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's memory to Life Care Center of Leominster, 370 West St, Leominster, MA 01453, Tufts Hospice or Beacon Hospice.
