Brigid Lillian Harkin

Brigid Lillian (Goodman) Harkin, age 83, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, formerly of Cambridge, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Harkin with whom she enjoyed 37 years of marriage until his passing in 2002.
Born in Castleblayney, County Monaghan, Ireland on February 5, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret (Kingham) Goodman.
Known affectionately as Lillian or Lily, she was raised in Ireland and immigrated to America as young woman. She met Michael at the ballroom dances in Dorchester introduced via mutual friends. She dedicated her life to her family and found joy in her work as a hairdresser. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her occasional trips to the casino, where she took pleasure in playing at the slot machines.
She is survived by her children, Margaret Harkin of Billerica, Michael and his wife Joan of Chelmsford and Charles and his wife Joanna of Woburn. She also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren, Kasey, Matthew, and Brendan -- as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 9 am at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Road, Chelmsford. KINDLY GATHER AT THE CHURCH. Interment will follow in Cambridge Cemetery, 76 Coolidge Ave., Cambridge at 11 am, following the funeral service. Kindly gather at the cemetery.
