Gary F. Shea, 67, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
Born in June 20 1958 in Woburn, he was the son of the late Lorraine (Conley) Shea and Russell Shea.
After graduating from Woburn High School, Gary joined the family business, Shea Brothers Printing in Cambridge. In the 1980s he launched his own company, Fleming Printing, based in Somerville, which built a loyal customer base for its high-quality work, professionalism and dedicated customer service.
He is survived by his loving wife Teresa Grove; his daughter Cory Shea of Chelmsford; his sister Susan Shea of Methuen; brother Richard Shea; brother-in-law Bill Grove (Nancy) of Tyngsborough; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a legion of devoted friends. He was the brother of the late Russell Shea.
Gary loved motorcycles, vintage cars, camping, the Boston Bruins and a good cannoli. He lived for the thrill of adventures with his family, exploring the backroads and off-the-beaten-track gems of New England, and the joy of deep laughter. He spent many happy hours at his vacation home in Parsonsfield, Maine, kicking back and enjoying time outside by the Ossipee River.
Nothing gave him more joy than spending time with his wife and daughter, whether taking a ride up to the beach for a baked stuffed lobster, or a trip to the mountains in New Hampshire for a cold beer in a local pub.
He took great pride in watching Cory grow, pursuing her interests in animal care and nursing.
Gary will be remembered for his dry Irish wit, his sweet tooth and his devotion to his family and friends. He had an abiding love for his mother's lasagna and reading the "Irish sports pages" in the newspaper.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the National Kidney Foundation, your local animal shelter or a charity of your choice.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 4 pm – 7 pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. His funeral services and interment will be held privately.
