Joan M. (Yando) Martin, 84, of Chicopee, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born on July 8, 1940 in Springfield and was the daughter of the late Gerald E. and Julia C. (Maslowski) Yando. Joan was a Bradlee's associate in the Domestic Department for many years. She enjoyed crafting and Hallmark movies. Joan loved taking care of her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard A. Martin, Sr. in 2003. Joan is survived by her children, Kimberly Thompson and her husband, Jon of Chesapeake, VA, Karen Martin of Jacksonville, FL, Kristine Breen of Chester, NH, Karleen Martin of West Springfield, Richard A. Martin, Jr. of Newport News, VA and Carolyn Martin of Chicopee. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Visitation is on Saturday, August 24th, 2024 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home, on 69 East St. in Chicopee. A funeral home service will be held at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Chicopee.
