Joan H. Minden, 93, peacefully departed this life on February 25, 2025, at the age of 93, at Villa St. Francis, Olathe, Kansas

Graveside service will be held at 10 am, Friday, February 28, 2025, at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Bucyrus, Kansas.

Born on November 28, 1931, Louisburg, Kansas, she was the eldest of five children born to Lawrence and Helen Henry. A proud graduate of Queen of the Holy Rosary High School, Joan maintained a lifelong love for learning and culture, which was reflected in her passion for studying history. Her appreciation for life was further expressed through her delight in dancing and baking, pursuits that brought joy not only to herself but also to the many friends and family members.

On May 11, 1957, in a ceremony held at Queen of the Holy Rosary Wea Catholic Church, Joan married her beloved husband, Marvin Minden. Together, they embarked on a journey of love and partnership that would transcend decades and cross states, ultimately bringing them back to their roots in Louisburg after retirement. Joan's commitment to her marriage and family was unwavering, serving as a steadfast foundation for their household.

An active member of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Wea Catholic Church, Joan's faith was integral to her identity and guided her actions throughout her life. Even after moving into Villa St. Francis in 2022, she continued to embody the values steadfastly held within her community and faith.

Joan is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Marvin Minden, her beloved parents, Lawrence and Helen Henry, as well as her siblings: Rosie VanFossen, Dorothy VanFossen, Leon Henry, and Donald Henry.
