Joan F. Nix

Joan F. Nix, 86, was called home and saw the face of Jesus on December 24, 2017. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN on May 26, 1931, the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucille Kohrman. Joan graduated from St. Joe School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 10 years. In her earlier years she enjoyed spending time with family at Crooked Lake. Joan loved spending time at her home on Lake Valentine. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and belonged to Pinochle Club, Nurses Association, and Luers Bingo Bunch. She enjoyed playing Bridge and various card games. She enjoyed doing needle point and cross stitch and making ornaments for her grandchildren. Her loving home was always open to friends and family with whom she greatly enjoyed spending time and making memories. Surviving are her children; Sue Iannucilli, Daniel (Melissa) Nix, Christopher (Barbara) Nix, Jennifer (Christopher) Kurek; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, William Kohrman and Thomas Korhman. She was preceded in death by her husband; Eugene Nix; siblings, Theresa Bowers, Joseph Kohrman, Leo Korhman, Carolyn Krider, and Delores Korhman; and son-in-law, Jon Iannucilli. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804 with calling 1 hour prior. Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a rosary at 7:30pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Burial will take place in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church for Masses or donations, or Matthew 25.
