With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Ann Oldt, age 82 of Southgate. Born on October 9, 1942, to Frank and Barbara Kessler, Joan lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication.
Joan was the devoted wife of the late Gary Oldt. She leaves behind her cherished children, Laurie & Joe Dolce, Christopher Oldt, and Frank & Kellen Oldt. Joan's legacy lives on through her adored grandchildren: Brianne & Sebastian, Joshua, Ali & Kristin, Kyle, Olivia, and her precious great-grandchild, Oliver. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
Joan's family was her world, and she cherished the role of bringing them all together. The holiday season was always a special time for Joan; a wonderful opportunity to gather everyone together and shower them with an abundance of appetizers before a large dinner. She had a true passion for shopping, often referred to as a professional at TJ Maxx and QVC. She had a special ability to light up any room she entered, bringing warmth and laughter to those around her. Joan had a competitive spirit, and loved playing card games she could easily cheat at. She found joy in visiting her special place, Oxbow Lake, gathering around a table with family, sharing a drink and creating cherished memories together.
To honor Joan's memory, a visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 11 AM to 6 PM at Czopek Funeral Directors, 2157 Oak Street, Wyandotte, MI, with a funeral service to begin at 5pm.
Joan will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering support for her family, and her ability to bring joy to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Joan Ann Oldt, please visit our floral store.
