Joan Piper Obituary

Joan made her home in Hillsboro, Oregon, where she and her beloved husband, Don, built a family filled with love and treasured memories. Together, they shared a passion for adventure, traveling across the United States and Canada and spending many winters in Yuma, Arizona. In 2021, they relocated to Ohio to be closer to their son and his family, continuing the strong bonds that were central to their lives.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 ½ years, Don; her parents, Alfred and Lydia Lippert; her son, David Piper; and her sister, Sharon West.
Joan will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to her family, and the lasting memories she created with those she loved. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Now reunited with Don, their love story continues beyond this life.
She is survived by her sons, Scott (Veronica) and Mark (Michelle); her grandchildren, Ryan, Shelby (Shane), Grant, Colin, and Jaime; and her step-grandchildren, Kristin (Pete), James (Elizabeth), Nicholas (Shannon), and Anthony. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Annie, Jade, and Ryan, as well as eleven step-great-grandchildren. In addition, Joan is remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6-8pm Wednesday, September 3, 2025 and 12:30 – 1:30 Thursday September 4 at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 9282 Acme Rd., Seville, OH Where a funeral service will follow at 1:30pm officiated by Pastor Rev. Karen Liddy officiating.
Interment will be in Acme Cemetery.
