Joan C. Roberts

Joan C Roberts, age 70, passed away June 28, 2024. Beloved daughter of the late Paul C. and Cecilia M. (nee Logue) Boyd Sr.

Joan is survived by her loving husband Richard D. Roberts Jr; Children, Karen L. Horne and Michael T. Roberts (Dr. Christopher W. Wilson); Sister, Nancy Seymour (Shawn); Grandson Brendan Horne; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her dear brothers, Paul Boyd jr. (late Sissy) and Robert Boyd (late Cathy).

Known for her hugs, Joan was one of those special people who had nothing but love and kindness for those around her. She would go out of her way to make you happy. 

Joan worked various retail jobs throughout her life, but she always said her greatest job and joy was being a Mother. This was as never more evident than through the love and care she put into the Holidays.

Growing up on Broad Street in Collingdale, she didn’t know as a young girl that the boy down the street would one day be her husband of 49 years. Joan was very active in various organizations and a proud cheer mom and dance mom. Joan understood the importance of human connection and believed that a stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet. She was lovingly referred to as the energizer bunny by her family, as she overcame many medical obstacles throughout her life. She will continue to live in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to Joan’s viewing Friday, July 5 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at The Knoetgen-Donohue Funeral Home, 746 Kedron Avenue, Morton, PA followed by her funeral service at 10:00 AM. Interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.
