Fishkill - Joan A. Saccente, a long-time resident of Fishkill, NY passed away on March 8, 2022. She was 86.
Joan was born in the Bronx, NY on June 10, 1935, the daughter of Anthony and Angela (Vista) Sylvester.
On June 9, 1962, she married the love of her life, Victor Saccente, who survives at home. Joan worked as a secretary for H.O. Penn in New York, NY leaving to fulfill her greatest accomplishment of raising her daughters.
Joan was a parishioner at St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill. She enjoyed vacationing in Pine Beach and Long Beach Island, NJ with her family and going to Saratoga to watch the horse races. In addition, she was a long-time fan of Elvis and enjoyed elephants. Joan's favorite past-times included cooking Sunday Dinners for her family and making Easter pies.
In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Suzanne and Justin Gaetano and Diane and Charles Junjulas; her grandchildren, Joseph Junjulas, Anthony Junjulas, Justine Gaetano, Elizabeth Junjulas, Christopher Gaetano, Matthew Gaetano, and Gerard Junjulas; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased her sister, Diane Carbone and her brother, Michael Sylvester.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 10AM at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Rosary Hill Home, 600 Linda Avenue, Thornwood, NY 10594.
