Vito Saccente, 69, of Cedar Grove, N.J., passed away on April 13, 2024. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 9-10 a.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Cedar Grove, with mausoleum entombment following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J. Memories and condolences may be shared at shookscedargrove.com.
Born in East Orange, N.J. to the late Angelo and Carmela Saccente, Vito lived in and attended school in both East Orange and West Orange, N.J. and lived in Pembroke Pines, Florida before returning to New Jersey. While living in Florida, he attended the Florida Institute of Technology, with aspirations of working in the sciences. Vito was highly intelligent and extremely athletic in his high school years. He was a kind, friendly person with a heart of gold and a sense of humor and will be greatly missed.
Vito was predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Carmela. He is survived by his loving sister, Angela Saccente Hogan; aunts and uncles, Theresa Saccente, Sabina Albanese, and her husband, Emil, and Gerard Repoli; cousins, Dominick Saccente, and his wife, Susan, Vito Saccente, and his wife, Kathleen, Emil Albanese, Janet Young, and her husband, Eddie, and many other wonderful cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, stjude.org, (800) 805-5856 in memory of Vito.

First met Vito in high school! He was a good looking nice kid! We had many good memories of our high school years ! I also knew his living parents and sister! Sending my deepest condolences the family.
