Joan H. Smith was born on September 4, 1934, to Frank and Carmen Hillenbrand in Massapequa, Long Island, New York. Joan married her high school sweetheart, Burt in 1952 and raised their family in L.I., New York. In 1978 Joan & Burt relocated to Atlanta, GA where they lived for the remaining years of their lives. Joan had a love for children and served as a Preschool Director for First Alliance Church in Atlanta, GA. Joan is survived by her 4 daughters Joan C Galasso married to Robert Galasso of St Simons Island, GA, Gail Smith married to Robert Smith of Woodbridge, VA, Susan Waters married to Rick Waters of Suffolk, VA and Robin L Boggs married to Dennis Boggs of Dawsonville, GA. Joan loved & enjoyed her 8 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren
