Joan Dorlene (Lyttle) Steudtner, 85, was born in Centralia, Illinois on August 18, 1939, to Warren Peer Lyttle and Ruth Vera (Kistler) Lyttle. They moved to Wichita, Kansas where she grew up. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from the University of Kansas. She obtained her nursing degree from Kansas State University in 1962. She married Richard (Dick) Steudtner on September 9, 1962. She was actively involved in Fellowship Bible Church. Joan and her husband moved to Highland Springs, a retirement community, in 2006. She loved her family, church, gardening and travel.
She is survived by her husband, Dick Steudtner, of Dallas, Texas; her younger sister, Jane Gloyd (and Kim Todd) of Durango, Colorado; children Todd (and Michelle) Steudtner of Plano, Texas, Blake (and Debbie) Steudtner of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Barry (and Darlene) Steudtner of McCordsville, Indiana. She has 4 grandchildren Lindsay (and Brett) Hustead, Abby Steudtner, Lauren Steudtner and Treston Swann Steudtner.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents and twin sister, Janet Kay (Lyttle) Hyndman and her husband, Henry H. Hyndman, Jr.
Services will be held at St. Andrew Methodist Church in the Hasley Chapel on Monday, June 30th at 10:00 am. The church is located at 5801 West Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas 75093. Memorial contributions are welcome at the Warren Center (thewarrencenter.org).
