Joan Tunzi Obituary
July 9, 1939 - July 7, 2025
Joan Tunzi passed away peacefully at her home in Petaluma on July 7, 2025 at the age of 85. A lifelong resident of Sonoma County, she was born in Petaluma to the late George and Karin McClintock. She graduated from Petaluma High School in 1957.
She loved hosting holidays and gatherings, spending time with her family and baking. She attended countless sports games and any other activities that her five children, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren participated in. She enjoyed playing Bunco and hosting the Oak Leaf Card Club. She was a member of the Sonoma Marin Cattlewomen and was Cattlewoman of the year in 2008; a member of the Swiss Italian Club and volunteer at the Sonoma Marin Fair for 40+ years.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jim Tunzi. Sister Judy Gilmore (Gene). Children Mike Tunzi, Cheri Carney (late Don), Larry Tunzi (Jill), Terry Tunzi and Rick Tunzi (Julie). Grandchildren Hailey, Caila, Tony, Danielle, Jake, Megan, Robby and Dena. Great-grandchildren Riley, Jace, Charlotte, Sawyer and Emery.

Sending condolences to the entire family. Joan was always so friendly and kind when I saw her, she offered a lot of encouragement when my mom passed away last year. I´m sad that the world is going to loose her light.
