Joan was born on January 19, 1943, in Winooski, VT. She was the eldest of four children born to Floyd and Doris (Peters) Smith. Joan was very proud to have worked at IBM retiring after 25 years. She loved cooking and entertaining for friends and family; the holidays were especially important to her. She was very involved with and enjoyed her time in the Red Hat Society.
Joan was predeceased by her parents, Floyd and Doris Smith and brothers Floyd T. and Dana Smith.
Joan is survived by her children Michael O'Leary (Cheryl) of Williston, VT and Kim Fletcher (Randy) of Seven Lakes, NC; grandchildren Christin Krauss and Christopher Atwood (Katie); great-grandchildren Jaden, Kylee and Kinsley; sister Debbie Jones and several nieces and nephews. Joan's cherished friends Maggie, Donna, Janice, Jan, Judy, Colleen, Muffet, and Shawn. Joan will be sorely missed by her friends and family.
A private memorial service and interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity.

Joan and I had many good time together back when we both worked she was a great lady and always fun to be around she could always bring you up when you were down

So sorry of Joan´s passing sending my deepest sympathy. We had many good time together many years ago. She was always good for the soul and could bring you up when you were down Even though we haven´t seen each other the pass number of years I still look back on the great times we shared She was a super lady and I know she will be missed by many.
