Leon Castle Obituary
Age 64, St. Albans/Winooski
Leon; "Jr'' as his family called him, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025 from complications due to a long term illness. Jr spent his last days at the McClure-Miller Respite House in Colchester where he received exceptional care and attention. Jr is survived by his mother Agnes (DeeDee) Castle, siblings: Susan (Michael), Randy (Tammy), Judy (David), Claude and Sandy (Ken) and many nieces and nephews.
Jr was predeceased by his father Leon H Castle, Sr. and his nephew Benjamin Jarvis.
Jr grew up in Winooski and graduated from Winooski High School in 1980. In his younger years Jr enjoyed fishing, playing basketball, drawing and painting and was a talented artist. Jr. worked construction earlier in his life and various other jobs throughout the years. Jr lived most of his adult life in St. Albans where he was last employed by St. Albans Co-op and Peerless Clothing.
Although Jr experienced difficult times in the past, the last weeks of his life he was safe, comfortable and surrounded by family that loved him. Jr, we will miss you but are thankful that you are now at peace and are reunited with your favorite dog Bear.
Donations in Jr's memory can be made to Martha's Community Kitchen, 139 Lake Street, St. Albans, VT 05478. Jr frequented Martha's Kitchen often and will be missed by the many friends he made there. Donations can also be made in Jr's memory to McClure Miller Respite House at UVMHealth.org or mail to McClure Miller Respite House c/o UVM Health Network - Home Health & Hospice 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, VT 05446.
No formal service will be held. A Celebration of Jr's Life will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Best Western Plus Windjammer Inn - Montreal Room 1076 Williston Road in, So. Burlington.
