Paul Blondin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Oct. 1, 2025.
Paul Blondin, 88, of So. Burlington passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025 following an extended illness. He was born on July 6, 1937 in Colchester, Vermont. The son of Louis and Florence (Shepard) Blondin, he attended Winooski High School and served in the Army National Guard. On June 2, 1958 he married Joan Barcomb of Winooski in a ceremony at St Stephen's Church In Winooski. He remained an incredibly devoted husband for over 55 years until Joan's passing in 2013.
A longtime employee of Mallets Bay Salvage and Blondin Brother's Auto Body, Paul was a lifelong mechanic and devoted family man. He was always quick to share his skills with family and friends and spent countless hours assisting people with their automotive repairs. He was always so proud to be able to lend his skills to others and assist them in their times of need. After retirement, Paul became an avid puzzle builder, a brain teaser puzzle solver, and a wooden model maker. His proficiency in these areas became so notable that it became difficult for his family to find new ones challenging enough for him. Until his last days, his mind remained very sharp, even as his body fell victim to age. Paul was an Usher and active member of St Joseph Cathedral in Burlington and greatly enjoyed attending services there.
Paul is survived by his children and grandchildren, Mike Blondin of Milton, his daughter Amy and her husband Logan, and his son Travis; Penny Morin of Williston, and her son Nick and his wife Shannon; Tim Blondin and his wife Patty of Hooksett, New Hampshire and their daughters Danielle and Allison; and John Blondin and his wife Susan of Rockledge, Florida, and their daughter Madison and son Jack.
He also leaves behind his brother Alfred and his wife Sheila of Colchester, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Joan, his son Jeff Blondin, his daughter-in-law Vicky Blondin, as well as siblings Joyce LaFerriere, Louis Blondin, and Allen Blondin.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 2 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at LaVigne Funeral and Cremation Service, 132 Main St, Winooski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday October 3, at 10:00 AM at St Joseph Cathedral in Burlington with burial to follow at St Francis Xavier Cemetery in Winooski.
