On Saturday, May 3, 2025, Joan Price Walker, loving wife and mother of three children passed away at age 93 in Suwanee, GA.
Joan was born on July 25, 1931 in Moultrie, GA to A.J. and Lorene Price. She graduated from Moultrie High School in 1948 and subsequently attended college in Valdosta and Statesboro, Ga. Following her graduation, Joan briefly taught in the Colquitt County school system before embarking on a highly successful career in business. After various roles in Macon, Moultrie and Savannah, Joan joined The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta in 1968 where she spent the next 26 years, culminating with her role as Director of Payroll before retiring in 1994.
Joan met her future husband, Bob Walker, in 1953. Married in 1954, Joan and Bob raised three daughters. Following Bob's untimely death in 1993, Joan turned her attention to her family, which grew to include 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Joan was a loving and very active presence in all of their lives. In addition to doting on her grandchildren, Joan loved to travel and was an active member of Kennesaw United Methodist Church. One of her favorite pastimes was following college football, most especially her beloved Georgia Bulldogs.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, A.J. Price and Lorene Price of Moultrie, GA, and her husband, Bob Walker, of Kennesaw, GA. She is survived by her brother, Jerry Price of Valdosta, GA; her sister Martha Webb of Homerville, GA; her three daughters, Angie Van Matre (David) of Atlanta, GA; Pam Foster (Walt) of Kennesaw, GA; Gina Murphy (Paul) of Statham, GA; six grandchildren, Jason, Megan, Lauren, Erin, Matthew and Caitlin, and 4 great-grandchildren, Walker, Miller, Foster and Cinzia. A private family service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
