In Loving Memory
Joan Ward Colotti DiCocco
March 15, 1937 – May 24, 2025
ONEIDA/PARISH, NY - It is with love and remembrance that we announce the passing of Joan Ward Colotti DiCocco, 88, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends at Oneida Hospital.
Joan was born in Parish, NY, the daughter of the late Elwyn M. and Lucile Barber Ward. Throughout her lifetime, Joan was an extremely hard worker, having been employed at Syracuse University and the New York State Thruway. She also owned the restaurant The Palace in Sylvan Beach, NY with her late husband Ron.
Known for her sharp wit and strong spirit, Joan brought energy and flair to everything she did. She especially loved playing cards with her friends, where her competitive streak and strategery were always in full display. She took pride in always looking her best-never without a piece of nice jewelry, which was just one of the many ways she expressed her love of life and attention to detail.
Joan was pre-deceased by her first husband, Leo Colotti, her second husband, Ronald DiCocco; her twin sister Jean Zender; her sister Carol Crisafulli; her sister Marlene Hallada; her son Bradley DiCocco; and her daughter-in-law Deborah DiCocco.
She is survived by her brother William Ward, Jr. (Shirley); her brother-in-law Louis DiCocco (Caroline); her son, Bruce DiCocco; five grandchildren: Beverly DiCocco Six (Greg), Michael DiCocco (Tracy), Maria Donnelly (Craig), Jeffrey DiCocco, and Carly DiCocco (Zack Mulvaney); along with five great-grandchildren: Quinn Donnelly, Genevieve, Dominic, and Rowan Six, and Louise DiCocco; and her close friend Donna DeArmond.
While her presence will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on through the stories, traditions, and strength she passed down to her family.
Relatives and Friends are invited to Calling Hours from 12 - 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, from Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 2983 W. Main Street, Parish, NY. Interment will be in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Joan's memory by gathering with loved ones and playing a game of pitch in her name.
