JoAnn Aldea (Hart) Castine, 93, died Friday, June 6th, 2025 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 10, 1932 in Amesbury, MA, the daughter of Clifford J. Hart and Evelyn (Jennings) Hart.

She was the wife of the late Albert Joseph Castine. They were married on May 14, 1950 in Merrimack MA.

She worked in the Rockingham County nursing home for 42 years as a LNA on the Alzheimer’s unit and in the later years as an Occasional Therapist, taking the patients bowling, shopping, making crafts and was always decorating her unit for every season. She was an incredible quilter, doll maker, crafter, seamstress and She has helped, touched so many people and made a difference in so many people’s lives throughout her life and is going to be greatly missed!

She was an amazing woman and grandmother, with a huge heart, who loved all of her family and friends.

Meme was 93 years old and she had the spirit of a young girl who always said… age is just a number and I don’t don’t care how old I am, I don’t feel 93 and I can do anything I want! She was full of spirit and spunk, always dressing as colorful and young as she could. Meme was a very loving, caring , kind, compassionate woman that would give you the shirt off her back, she was always helping everyone, taking people in, if they needed a place to live, she was always looking out for and sticking up for the underdog. She loved playing cards with family and friends and she loved Candlepin bowling and looked forward to bowling in her Thursday night league at Exeter Bowling Lanes with Heather and the gang.

Predeceased by her sons, Albert William Castine and Richard Castine, and her daughter Kathleen Pepin, grandson John Castine, sisters Shirley Reilly, Jacqueline Downer, and brothers Edward J. Hart and C. Robert Hart.

Survived by her son Timothy Castine and his wife Joni, her Daughter in-law Heather Castine, her grandchildren, Daniel Castine and his wife Lisa, Sally Winchell and her husband Jon, Melissa Castine and her significant other Jim Petrain, Danielle Castine, Jason Castine, Timothy Castine Jr, Steven Castine, Jami Castine, Lori Rowe, Jimmy Castine, Sarah Castine, Timothy Maguire, Wendy Scott, Kelly Mills, and many great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and her sister Judy Buzzell.

ARRANGEMENTS: Service will be held at 11:00am, June 20, 2025 at Saint Joseph’s Parish, 200 Pleasant Street, Epping NH. Family and friends are invited to attend. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, Hampton.
