Joann Dalton Dozier, of Waldron, Arkansas, joined the Angels of Heaven on October 11, 2024. Joann was born in Norman, Arkansas on November 6, 1931. She was married to Knox Dozier on October 25, 1954; together they built a life filled with love and laughter.
Joann was an active member of Waldron First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. Joann taught for 30 years in Waldron Public Schools. She loved her students dearly. She enjoyed quilting, reading, and cooking fun filled family dinners. Mostly, Joann was best being a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and especially "Granny Jo" to her adoring grandchildren. She will be remembered for her love, loyalty, energy, and laughter.
Joann was preceded in death by her husband, Knox Dozier, parents Pat and Margie Dalton, brothers J.A. Dalton and Bert Dalton, as well as other family members and friends.
Joann is survived by two sons, Miles Patrick Dozier and wife Darla, and Knox Allen Dozier and wife Toni. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Ashley Poe and Timmy, Jessica Tull and Jordan, Dalton Knox Dozier and Erica, Mason Dozier and Drew Dozier, her step-grandchildren Dylan Ridenhour and Rachel Stinson; and great-grandchildren Ella Tull, Arlee Knox Poe, Riggs Tull, Waylon Knox Dozier, and step-great granddaughter Abigail Stinson.
Joann also leaves the love she shared with numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Joann's visitation for family and friends, will be Monday, October 14th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Martin Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas
A funeral service celebrating Joann's amazing life will be held at Waldron First Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 15th at 2:00 pm with burial following at Duncan Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Dalton Dozier, Mason Dozier, Drew Dozier, Timmy Poe, Jordan Tull, and Dylan Ridenhour.
Donations in memory of Joann, may be made to Waldron First Baptist Church or Duncan Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Martin Funeral & Cremation - Waldron.
