JoAnn Stuckey Foster, of Austin, Texas, passed away on July 10, 2024, at the age of 75. She was born in August 1948 in Atlanta, Texas to parents Otis and Billie Stuckey. JoAnn had many talents, but will be remembered most as a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was lovingly referred to as "Lolo" by her grandchildren.
JoAnn is survived by husband Gary Foster, daughter Amy and son-in-law Bobby Bragg of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, daughter Kelli and son-in-law Chad Wood of Austin, Texas, grandchildren Becca and Beau Bragg and Foster, Ella and Hadley Wood, and sister Glenda Collins of Bloomburg, Texas. She was preceded in death by parents Otis and Billie Stuckey and grandparents Dallas "Doc" and Ouida Lawrence and Thomas and Ada Stuckey, all of Bloomburg, Texas.
JoAnn grew up in Bloomburg, Texas amongst many cousins and family members, and attended Bright Star high school. JoAnn practiced as a Registered Pharmacist after graduating from the University of Texas Pharmacy School in December 1970. She was a passionate Longhorn and a fan of UT football and baseball throughout her life. She married Gary Foster in January 1971 in Atlanta, Texas where they both worked in local pharmacies and attended Atlanta First United Methodist Church. In March 1978, Gary and JoAnn purchased Palmore Drug and moved their family to Pittsburg, Texas. With dedication and patience, JoAnn worked alongside Gary in the pharmacy in Pittsburg for over 20 years. The family attended First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg where both daughters were married. She began working for the state of Texas as a pharmacy examiner in the east Texas region, eventually transferred to the Austin area and retired as a state employee.
JoAnn was a gifted gardener, hostess and chef, a member of various garden clubs, and a dedicated volunteer with the Austin Assistance League. JoAnn was a talented quilter, and her circle of quilting friends were like family. She enjoyed socializing with her many friends, shopping and traveling with family and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. JoAnn was soft-hearted and generous unless you criticized her grandchildren.
JoAnn's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 17th at 2 pm at Beck Funeral Home at 1700 E. Whitestone Boulevard in Cedar Park, Texas with family visitation at 1 pm followed by a reception in Pittsburg, Texas. Graveside services will be Saturday, July 20th at 10 am at Olive Branch Cemetery at 2940 AR-160 in Doddridge, Arkansas.
