Joann Thompson Greene, age 83, of Biscoe, passed away on April 7, 2025, at FirstHealth Hospice House.
Born on June 11, 1941, in Hoke County, Joann was the daughter of Risdon and Aerial Cole Thompson. She was a member of Candor Baptist Church and cherished her time spent cooking and being with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Comer, Mozelle Hicks, Yvonne McCaskill, Ruth Dewitt and brothers Claude Thompson, Jerry Thompson and Roger Thompson.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Cecil Greene; son Edward Greene (Tammie) of Biscoe, daughters Beverly Bean of Biscoe; and Sharon Romero of Biscoe and brother Hugh Thompson (Diane) of Myrtle Beach. Grandchildren Terran Ivey (John); Seth Greene (Maddie); Elizabeth Romero, Natalie Romero, Sofia Romero, Alexander Romero and Brandon Watson; as well as great grandchildren Jace Efthimiadis, Ella Grace Romero and Lakelynn Greene.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Candor Baptist Church from 1:30-2:45pm. Funeral service will start at 3:00 pm with Pastor Steve Jarman and Rev. Chuck Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Candor Baptist Church at PO Box 614, Candor, NC 27229.
