BONNE TERRE- JoAnn "Jody" D. Halbrook, cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 7, 2025, at Parkland Health Center in Farmington at the age of 77. She was born on October 23, 1947, in Farmington, to the late Perry Evans and Thelma (Knox) Evans.
Jody is survived by her beloved children, Kim (Kevin) Hopkins, Timothy Barron, and Cody (Kaylee Parker), who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. She is also survived by her sister, LeeAnn Cassidy, along with her grandchildren, Anthony Nettles, Breanna Eckhoff, and Dustin Nettles, and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of pride and joy in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry Evans and Thelma Mae (Knox) Evans; her husband, David Lee Halbrook; and her sister, Diane Penfield. Their memories will forever resonate within the hearts of those who knew and loved Jody.
Jody dedicated 26 years of her career to the Trimfoot Shoe Company in Farmington, where she was known not only for her strong work ethic but also for her warm presence that brightened the workplace. After retiring, Jody enjoyed her time engaging in her hobbies, particularly watching TV and playing solitaire. Most importantly, she treasured the moments spent with her family, creating lasting memories that will be cherished forever.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 1 p.m. until the memorial service at 2 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
