Joann C. Policelli, 77, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully at home
on Wednesday, March 27th surrounded by her family. She was the wife of
the late Henry A. Policelli, Jr.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Sally
(Lancaster) Vollaro.
Joann grew up in Connecticut and moved to Rhode Island after marrying.
She worked in the Scituate School system when her own children were
adolescents and later went to work as a daycare provider for 20 years.
Though she loved her job, Joann's favorite role was that of a grandparent.
She treasured her time with her grandkids and loved being their Grammy,
never failing to spoil them.
Joann loved spending time with her family, especially sunny days at the
beach or by the pool. She enjoyed all types of crafting and never missed
an opportunity to decorate or celebrate an occasion. She was thoughtful
and never forgot a birthday or holiday. Joann had a colorful sense of style
and loved to shop.
Joann is survived by her loving children, Gina M. Policelli-Halvorsen and
her husband Henry of East Greenwich, Henry J. Policelli and his wife Cara
of Cumberland, ME and Maria Policelli and her husband Justin Hatch of
Andover, MA; a brother, Joseph Vollaro of South Windsor, CT and four
grandchildren, Ava and Lily Halvorsen and Charlotte and Benjamin Hatch.
She was the sister of the late Alexander Vollaro.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the
Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West
Warwick, followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be private for the
family.
