JoAnn H. Ray, age 84 of Ocilla, GA (formerly of Constantine), passed away peacefully August 12, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born September 21 1940, a daughter of Clareance (Toots) and Helen E. Gazella of Jones. JoAnn graduated from Three Rivers High School. She was employed at Owens-Illinois in Constantine and retired after 30 years of service. JoAnn was married to Monte D. Ray for 23 years, together they had 5 children, Tina Mercer, Ocilla, GA, Kelly (Glen) Borntreger, Centreville, David (Angela) Ray, Jones, John (Tammy) Ray, White Pigeon and Suzanna (Bryan) Miller, Three Rivers. Also surviving are her greatly loved grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and sister Mary Jane Buchanan of Jones. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; brother Thomas Frank Gazella and sister Donna May Renwick. JoAnn enjoyed family get togethers, traveling, antiquing, making crafts, bingo, playing cards, watching movies and she loved her dog Bella. Her children especially remember how much JoAnn loved living in Ocilla, GA, visiting Savannah Tybee Island and the Atlantic Ocean, attending Verse by Verse Church, visiting Pigeon Forge, TN and riding the roller coaster at age 84, as well as working in the Pretzel Wagon at fairs and events in Michigan and Indiana. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service at Poes Cemetery, followed by a brunch, will be announced at a later date.
