Joann G. Weihe, 87, died Sunday, March 16, 2025.
She was born November 3, 1937, daughter of Joe and Marguerite Hicks Gering. Joann was a 1955 graduate of Southern High School and a member of Summit Heights Methodist Church, Okolona Women's Club and the old Fairview Homemaker's Club.
Joann loved spending time with her family. She was a caring Wife, Mother, Sister, Grand Mother and Great Grandmother. Joann had a kind heart and beautiful contagious personality. She loved singing in the Summit Heights Church choir and had a passion for teaching children during Vacation Bible School and she loved either watching or teaching the Children's Sermon. She was always close to her shadow companion and her beloved Goldendoodle, Teddy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Weihe; and son, Jeffrey Weihe.
Survivors include sons, Jerry Weihe (Beverly) and Joel Weihe (Patti) Weihe; grandchildren, Courtney Kern (Jacob), Lauren Weihe, Seth Pardieu, Sydney Pardieu; great grandchildren, Tessa Kern, Gwen Kern and Liam Kern; and siblings, Ron Gering and Claudia Tyler.
Her funeral is 11am Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Summit Heights Methodist Church, 7400 Outer Loop, Louisville, KY. 40208, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7pm Friday, March 21, 2025, at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY.
