Joanna Lee Ashba, 66, of Williston, SC passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Piedmont Hospital in Augusta, GA. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock p.m., Thursday, April 17th at Winfield Heights Baptist Church with the Reverend Jamie Wootten officiating. Burial will follow in the Williston Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Joanna's memory to Winfield Heights Christian Kindergarten or Winfield Heights Baptist Church, 315 Chester St., Williston, SC 29853.
Born on October 31, 1958, in Cherry Point, NC, she was a daughter of Helen Griffin Ashba and the late Robert Leon "Bob" Ashba. She was a 1977 graduate of Williston-Elko High School and attended Baptist College in Charleston, SC. She was an active member for over 50 years at Winfield Heights Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was involved in different activities throughout the church. Since 1985, she has taught at Winfield Heights Christian Kindergarten and School. She was an excellent teacher and taught hundreds of students for the past 37 years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her mother, Helen G. Ashba, survivors include her sisters, Annette Ashba, Donna Ashba (Don) Mole all of Williston, SC and Tammy Ashba (Barry) Crim of Swansea, SC; a sisters-in-law, Candy Ashba of Summerton, SC and Regina Ashba of Barnwell, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Robert L. Ashba, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert Allen "Bobby" Ashba and James "Bo" Ashba; a nephew, Brad Sweat and great niece, Kayla Nicole Sweat.
