Peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025 Joanne E. Clay of Long Beach Twp., NJ, passed away. Beloved wife of the late Perry Clay; mother of Michael (Robin) Clay and Susan M. Clay; grandmother of Nicole (Tyler) Brett and Megan, Meredith, Madison, and Maison; sister of Frank (Sue) Eaton and the late Matt Eaton and David Eaton. Joanne was the heart of her family, known for her warmth, generosity, and the way she opened her home to friends and loved ones. Her kindness and steady presence held the family together through life's joys and challenges. She had a wide circle of friends and treasured the special moments spent with them. She gave her time as a volunteer at St. Francis Food Pantry and found joy in cooking, sharing meals and spending time, especially at the Jersey Shore, where she made many lasting memories with everyone she came across. Joanne's kindness, generosity, strength, and love will be remembered by all who knew her. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who supported her during her journey with Alzheimer's. Though her struggle was long, her legacy of love, resilience, and devotion endures in the hearts of all who knew her. Private arrangements are entrusted to Simons Funeral Home, Inc. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of your choice or the Alzheimer's Association.
