Joanne T. Jurkovic

Joanne T. Jurkovic, 86, of Glen Ellyn, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025, after a long illness with dementia. She was born on September 19, 1938, in Chicago: she was the daughter of John and Marguerite Meegan. Joanne married Walter Jurkovic in 1961 in Chicago. Joanne spent most of her working years at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois as a Nurse, Nursing Supervisor of the Mental Health Unit and as the Administrator of Mercy Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Homewood, IL. She enjoyed going to the Morton Arboretum and caring for her children and grandchildren. Joanne is survived by her sisters, Mary Brinckerhoff and Betsy Gilbert and her brothers, Leo Meegan and Patrick Meegan. Six children, Joe Jurkovic of Winfield, Charles (Cherrise) of Darien, Walter (Vickie) of Naperville, Dan (Dawn) of St Charles, Michele (Chauncey) of Sycamore, and Paul (Lisa) of Cape Coral, FL; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Peter Meegan, Jack Meegan; her sister, Margaret Christianson, and her grandchildren, Paul, Patrick and Phillip.
