Evelyn Joanne McClane Kemp (“Mo”), 95, died Monday, March 17, 2025 at her home.
Joanne was born March 14, 1930 in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Anthony Joseph McClane and Verene Reed McClane. She married Jack E. Kemp on November 17, 1951 in Fort Worth.
Her early career included working as a draftsman of helicopter and airplane components for Convair (General Dynamics). She faithfully served as a church secretary for many years. As part of her work accomplishments, she designed business logos and signage, all while raising five children and helping with her husband’s business. Some of her artistic skills were painting with oil, acrylic and watercolors.
Mo was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Jack E. Kemp and brother Robert Anthony McClane, both of Justin, Texas, and daughter-in-law Linda Kemp of Abilene, Texas.
She is survived by children Karl Kemp (Terry) of Neosho, Missouri, Scott Kemp of Abilene, Texas, Barbara Kemp of Roanoke, Texas, Becky Kemp Freeman (Kent) of Justin, Texas, and Bailey Kemp of Keeter, Texas; grandchildren Joshua Kemp (Tanya), Seth Kemp (Jinger), Jesse Kemp (Sarah), Michael Kemp (Ashley), Hannah Kemp Garbacz (Scott), Matthew Kemp (Kelli), MaryLynn Kemp, Clint Freeman (Corey), Blake Freeman (Katy), Lindsay Kemp Schwieger (Andrew), and Tyler Kemp (Kaydee); great-grandchildren Noah, Lilyanne and Cora Kemp; Samuel, Joy and Shiloh Kemp; Hazel and Sophie Kemp; Joseph and Samuel Garbacz; Raylan, Sadie and Myles Kemp; Colton and Camryn Freeman; Peyton and Sadie Freeman; Evelynn and baby brother-to-come-soon Kemp; sister-in-law Mary McClane.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19 at Blessing Funeral Home, Mansfield. Memorial Service: 3 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at Countryside Bible Church in Southlake, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Countryside Bible Church Building Debt Reduction Fund
