Masciantonio (Candeloro)
Joanne. December 22nd, 2024, age 62. Loving and devoted wife of Jerry Masciantonio. Loving
mother of Blaise and Christian (Gianna). Beloved daughter of Celia and the late Hugo Candeloro. Loving sister of Lucille Candeloro, Carl Candeloro, Hugo (Amelia) Candeloro, and sister-in-law of Maryann Pilla (John). Also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as special friends and additional "family" members. Joanne was born on August 14th, 1962 and raised on 20th street in South Philadelphia's Girard Estate neighborhood. She played the clarinet in the Saint Maria Goretti High School orchestra. Her dream however, was to have her own hair salon which she intended to name The Cutting Point. She became the manager of a Randy Rick Salon at 20 years of age. She began seeing Jerry Masciantonio on June 3rd, 1983, and shortly thereafter they purchased the Randy Rick salon. The salon reopened on April 1st, 1984 and was named the Cutting Point. With that, her dream was fulfilled. Joanne and Jerry were married for 40 wonderful years during which they continued to successfully operate the salon. That success continues to this day thanks to a great family of staff members and clients. Joanne's legacy persists.
Relatives and friends are invited to her VIEWING Saturday December 28th, 2024 9 AM to 10:30 AM At Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Agnes Church, 701 Little Gloucester Rd., Blackwood, NJ 08012. Her funeral mass will follow at 11 AM. Interment Saint Joseph's Cemetery and Mausoleum, Blackwood, NJ.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to ALS United Mid-Atlantic, 1015
Virginia Avenue, Suite 100, Fort Washington, PA 19035.

My deepest sympathy to Jerry, and the family and friends of Joanne. I used to get my hair done by Joanne in high school in the 1980´s. Even after I left for college in CT, I would come back to Philly to get my hair done by her well into the 1990´s!!! She had such a great way with her and made you feel so special and made you feel so beautiful. I am so grateful to have known her and know that she is resting in peace. Heaven has another angel.

To Mrs. Candeloro, Jerry Marciantonio, your children, grandchildren and the entire Candeloro and Marciantonio Families please accept our profound and deep sympathies for your loss. Teresa and I were so saddened to learn of the passing of Joanne. Please accept our profound and deep sympathies for your loss. We cannot imagine the swirl of emotions that you must be experiencing, we can only conjecture. Sometimes what may move through you during this period is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch with your loving daughter, your wife, your faithful sister and your loving mom and yes, your faithful friend. You may not ever understand why Joanne left this earth so soon, or why Joanne left before you were ready to say good-bye, but little by little through the comfort of friends and family you will begin to remember not just that Joanne died, but that she lived for 62 extraordinary years; impacting everyone with whom she came into contact. Although we did not know Joanne, knowing Lucille and her mother as we do, we are certain Joanne touched many others in her life through her kindness, her compassion for all people, as well as her generosity and self-sacrifice. Both time and life keep a dear school indeed, and once again they have shown us that life is both fragile and fleeting, full of joy and dampened by sorrow, temporary yet eternal. The comfort we share is in knowing that we are never alone - not when the night is darkest, the wind the coldest, nor the world seemingly most indifferent. Take comfort in knowing that someone so special as Joanne will never be forgotten. You no doubt treasure the time that you were together and are comforted by the gratitude of knowing that hers was a life well lived and richly enjoyed.
