Obituary of Joanne M. McGuigan
Joanne Marie (Plower) McGuigan, 74, of Perkiomenville, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
She was born at the Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, on July 3, 1951, the daughter of the late John E. and Ellen M. (Stockley) Plower. Her father was stationed at Headquarters Marine Corps in Washington, D.C., at the time of her birth.
Joanne made her home in Perkiomenville for the past two years and previously lived in Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, Washington, Texas, Arizona, Florida, Virginia, and her hometown of Conshohocken, where she was born and raised.
She was a lifelong member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church in Conshohocken, where she also attended school, graduating from Archbishop Kennedy High School in 1969.
Joanne was the beloved wife of Edward A. McGuigan, Jr., her devoted husband of 54 years. She is survived by her husband, Edward, of Perkiomenville; sons Edward McGuigan III and his wife Toril of Breckenridge, CO, and Kevin McGuigan and his wife Allison of Charlotte, NC; and her siblings John (Gina) Plower, Thomas (Marcia) Plower, Suzanne (Jim) Whiting, Beth Anne (Phil) Mascio, Mary Anne (Andy) Decker, Michael (Donna) Plower, and Matthew Plower. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Aedan, Laurel, and Eleanor ("Ellie"), who brought her endless joy, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews who will miss her dearly.
Joanne will be remembered for her endless thoughtfulness and the quiet grace with which she moved through life; always putting others before herself. She never missed a reason to send a card or offer a kind word. She poured that same care into the embroidered cross-stitch pieces she spent months creating for her family; each one stitched with love and patience. Her kindness and gentle laughter filled every room she entered, and her generosity of spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, 219 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 to 10:15 AM prior to the Mass.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joanne's memory to the Alzheimer's Association via the following link:
