Joanne Priebe, a dedicated resident of Lake County throughout her 83 years, passed away on April 17, 2025. Born in Waukegan on March 12, 1942, to Clementine and George Sr. Priebe, Joanne spent her formative years in Libertyville. She was an alumna of Libertyville High School and a parishioner at St. Joseph Church. Joanne built a meaningful career, contributing her efforts to Anchor Glass, later serving in the cafeteria at her alma mater, LHS, and most recently working at Dominick's. Beyond her professional life, Joanne was known for her delightful appreciation for sweets, particularly donuts, chocolates, and ice cream. Her compassion extended to animals, readily offering shelter to strays and wildlife in need. She enjoyed engaging television, including talk shows, game shows, wrestling, and murder mysteries. Joanne held her family dear, always remembering the birthdays of her nieces and nephews. She was a familiar sight in Libertyville, often seen enjoying walks through the town. Joanne brought more love into this world and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving sister Darnell (Douglas) Keesling; her cherished nieces and nephews Derrek (Anna), Devan (Tessa), Julie and Jennifer; and many great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Clementine and George Sr. and her brother George Jr. (Judy).
Funeral services for Joanne will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday May 16th at Ascension Catholic Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Rd, Libertyville. Funeral arrangements by McMurrough Funeral Chapel (847) 362-2626.
