Joanne Louise Reck

Joanne Kreutzer Reck, 79, of Belle Vernon, died Monday, June 30, 2025 in Allegheny General Hospital. She was born July 29, 1945 in New Brunswick, NJ, the daughter of the late Henry and Josephine Carver Kreutzer. Joanne was a 1963 graduate of North Arlington High School, and went on to study at Waynesburg College, graduating in 1968 and California University, graduating in 1987. She was a teacher in the Trinity School District, retiring in 2014. She was also a twenty-three year employee of J.C. Penney before her teaching career. Joanne was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was a long-time member of First Lutheran Church, Washington. On July 25, 1970 Joanne married John "Junior" Reck. Mr. Reck died August 5, 2021. Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer J. (Matt) Reck-Washowich of Belle Vernon; three brothers, Richard (Betty) Kreutzer of Texas, and John (Beth) Kreutzer and Bruce (Marie) Kreutzer, both of South Carolina; a granddaughter, Payton Ann Balieu; three sisters-in-law, Margaret White and Beverly Reck and Sandy Reck, and three brothers-in-law, Dick White, Dave Reck and Bob Reck. Friends will be received Sunday from noon to 3 PM in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 7, 2025 with Reverend Robert Grewe officiating.
