Jodie Raye Hartis, 50, returned home to the Lord on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

Jodie was born on April 3, 1974, in Houston, Texas.  A nurturing, loving, and selfless mother, she always put her kids first in everything she did. Described as the “hub” for the family, she was the foundation that kept her family firmly and lovingly together. Any time spent with family making memories was time never wasted, especially when it came to her grandkids who knew her as “Mimi”. Jodie was also a wonderful wife who took care of the home, and those in it, without hesitation. She was her husband’s guiding light and his compass in the storm. Lovingly known as “Aunt Dodo” to her nieces and nephews, they also found joy in her company whenever they had the chance.

Jodie loved going to the beach; however, she was a self-proclaimed “homebody” who understood herself well enough to know when she needed the comforts of home. She was a sports fanatic, especially when it came to Georgia football and “The Dawgs”. She was best described as a strong fighter and a warrior to those who knew her best, her stubborn streak lasting up until the very end. Her sweet countenance will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Her mother, Jo Lynn Boyd, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of 12 years, Anthony “Tony” Hartis; children, Jessica Mimbs (Josh) of Byron, Jordan Hartis-Prewitt (Brandon) of Warner Robins, Jenna Eason of Warner Robins, and Johnny Eason, II. of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Bryson Mimbs, Atleigh Mimbs, Christopher Mimbs, Roman Prewitt, Ezran Prewitt, and Calian Prewitt; siblings, Kristen Watkins of Woodstock and Thomas Brooks of Perry; stepchildren, Kaitlyn Miller of Scranton, PA, and Christopher Olvera of Cartersville, GA; along with several nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Southside Baptist Church.
