Jody Hach Obituary

Jody Hach (Mertes), born October 19, 1957, passed peacefully with her family by her side on November 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy stitched together with love, dedication, and a life rich with purpose. The daughter of Bill and Joan Mertes, and sister to Debra, Tim, Shelby, and Kimberly, Jody grew up surrounded by a large and lively family who shaped her strong sense of responsibility and resilience. Those early years formed the foundation for the devoted woman she became - someone who showed up, worked hard, and cared deeply.

She spent five decades of life with her devoted husband, Craig, sharing a long partnership filled with mutual support, joys and endless love for each other. Nothing brought Jody more contentment than having her children, Justin (Yuki) and Jessica (Ben), and her grandchildren - Greta, August, and Edison - nearby. Being able to step into their daily lives, celebrate their successes, and witness them grow was one of her greatest blessings. She attended every one of her grandkids' events with heartfelt enthusiasm.

Jody was never happier than when she was elbow-deep in her hobbies - antiques, sewing, embroidery, cooking, camping or gardening - often transforming each passion into a side business before anyone realized what she was up to. After working in printing for nearly 40 years, Jody retired a few years ago. Retirement was supposed to slow her down, but Jody approached it the same way she approached everything: with tireless energy, endless curiosity, and a to-do list that seemed to multiply overnight. She was a worker in every sense, but she worked out of love, not obligation.

Those who knew her will remember her love of black-and-white sitcoms, her delight in a perfectly timed joke (sometimes at her expense), and most of all, her laugh - the kind that made everyone else laugh, too. Friends and family were always cared for when they were around Jody. The ultimate nurturer, she cared for everyone deeply. When you were with her you knew that you were loved.

Jody leaves behind a world brighter, funnier, and far more beautiful than she found it.
