Marlene St. Louis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapels - Hillside Chapel on Mar. 17, 2026.
Marlene St. Louis

November 6, 1954 - March 12, 2026

Roseville, MN

Marlene Marie St. Louis was born on November 6, 1954, to Paul and Lorraine St. Louis, and raised in Roseville, Minnesota. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers Ray and Andre St. Louis. She is survived by children James Kromrey, Cecilia (Andy) Govrik, and Tiffany (Wes) Miller; siblings Linda Fox, Gene (Lex) St. Louis, Renee Jenson, Denise (Mike) Stephens, David (Chrys) St. Louis, and sister-in-law Janet St. Louis, as well as many nieces and nephews. Growing up in a big family, Marlene had fond memories of her childhood. She especially loved family reunions and catching up with her many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School in 1973.

Marlene was married to Gerald Kromrey from 1973 to 1987 and was blessed with three children during their years together. Marlene often stated that her children were the most important accomplishment and biggest joy in her life.

For many years, Marlene enjoyed hobbies like crocheting and drawing. She had fun playing cards and board games with friends, but bingo was by far her favorite activity. She liked listening to music, loved animals, and most of all cherished the opportunities to visit with her family. Marlene faced a range of health struggles throughout her life, most notably the diagnoses of dementia and Alzheimer's disease at much too young of an age. Her family is grateful for the ongoing care she received from the teams at SuiteLiving Roseville, Bluestone Physician Services, and Brighton Hospice in recent years.

Marlene had family by her side the evening of March 12, 2026. She died in her sleep late that night, ending her battle with Alzheimer's at the age of 71. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. To honor Marlene's love of animals, donations to the Animal Humane Society are suggested.
