Joe Telio Argenta, age 83, of Centerville, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville.
Joe was born on December 30, 1940 in Seymour, Iowa, the son of Telio John and Isabela (Dezorzi) Argenta. He graduated from Seymour High School with the Class of 1962. On April 4, 1964, Joe was united in marriage to Sandy Pescadore. They recently celebrated their 60th Anniversary.
Joe worked in Construction. At 22, he became disabled due to a construction accident which buried him 12 feet in the ground. In his free time, he enjoyed watching sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes Football team. He was also a long time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville.
Left to honor Joe's memory are his wife, Sandy Argenta; his siblings, Margie (Steve) Hanson, Janine Ward, and Francine Johnson; his sister-in-law, Wendy Argenta; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Telio and Isabela Argenta; and his siblings, Tony Argenta, Joan Argenta, Mary Ann Havens, and August "Auggie" Argenta.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, September 16, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Larry Bettis officiating. Burial will follow the service at Numa Cemetery in Numa, Iowa. Visitation will take place Monday, September 16, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 9:00AM-10:00AM. Memorials may be written to Golden Age Activity Fund, and may be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, ATTN: Argenta Family, 501 North 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
