Joe Dodd, age 75, of Cherokee, Iowa died January 6, 2026 at Cherokee Specialty Care in Cherokee.

Services will take place at a later date. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Joseph "Joe" Arthur Dodd was born March 9, 1950, to George and Florence (Mastel) Dodd. He graduated from Alta High School in 1968.

Joe was blessed with a son, Christopher. On July 29, 1989, Joe was united in marriage to Shirley Morse on Casper Mountain in Casper, Wyoming. He welcomed Shirley's two daughters, Melissa and Carrie.

Joe worked in a wide variety of jobs including various packing plants, oil fields and in the concrete industry. He was a member of the Wyoming Bikers Association and was especially passionate about their effort to help children in need. Joe loved motorcycles and antique cars. He was a true outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and spending time in the Wyoming mountains. You could find him skiing on the slopes in winter months. More than anything, Joe treasured time with his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Joe is survived by his wife, Shirley Dodd of Cherokee, Iowa; children: Christopher (Brandy) Dodd; Melissa Peters (Mark Tokheim); Carrie Schmitt; siblings: George (Shirley) Dodd; Glen (Deb) Dodd; Peggy Korleski; Carol (Tommy) Langley; Karen Bond; Lora (David) Brosseau; Gary (LaDonna) Dodd; Christine (Phil) Swim; six grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; cousins; and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Florence Dodd; brothers: Kenneth Frederick Dodd; William "Beaner" Dodd; and nephews: Michael Kelly and Cody Kelly.

Joe and Shirley are special friends to me. Joe was always so polite and kind to me and I loved him and Shirley equally. I didn´t realize he was in his 70´s. What a sweet man. God definitely got an Angel. God bless you Shirley and your family. Love to all. Frances M McDonald
