Joe Lawrence Frizzell

Joe Lawrence Frizzell, age 81, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024, at Midlothian Methodist Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born on February 23, 1942 in Ft. Worth Texas and grew up in Joshua, Texas. He was a licensed Mortician and Funeral Director in Cleburne, Texas where he met the love of his life, Nancy. They were blessed with three sons. Joe went to work for Southwestern Bell 1967 and retired from AT&T in 1997.
Joe and Nancy moved to Midlothian in 2006 where Joe quickly became involved in city politics. In 2007 Joe was elected to the Midlothian City Council and served until 2019. Nine of those years he was the Mayor Pro Tem.
During his time on the Council, he served on numerous committees and represented the city on the North Central Texas Council of Governments. He was instrumental in bringing a Casa weather radar to Midlothian.
Joe was a member of the Ellis County Radio Club, the Masonic Lodge, and was an active member of First Baptist Church Midlothian where he served as a deacon.
Joe was proceeded in death by his parents, Marvin and Oleta Frizzell and son, David L. Frizzell.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nancy, sons Alan and wife, Cydney and Barry and wife, Wendy.
Grandchildren Ryan (Kimberly), Brandon, D.J., Megan, Katie, Emmanuale (Arisbeth), Jaymez (Marcella), Jayda, and six great grandchildren who were the light of his life.
He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
To celebrate his life, a visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 12 to 1 in the afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Midlothian, Student Life Center 1680 S Midlothian Pkwy, Midlothian, TX 76065. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1.
