Joe O. Harlan

Joe O. Harlan finished his fight with cancer on November 12, 2024, in Lexington, KY, at the age of 82, He was born January 21, 1942, in Heflin, AL. Joe retired from 3M, where he worked as a Purchasing Agent for over 30 years. He loved to travel, including short excursions in his 1968 Impala, missionary trips, and vacations abroad. He positively affected many young lives as a volunteer for years with the athletic programs at Lafayette High School.
Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia W. Harlan; son Chad and his wife Monica Harlan; sister Rebecca Chappell; and nephew Phillip Chappell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Blanch Harlan, and his brother-in-law Michael Chappell.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 10:30 AM, at Broadway Baptist Church, 2500 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, KY. It will be followed by the funeral services at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Honor Flight Kentucky (www.honorflightky.org) or Broadway Baptist Church.
