Joe Pitman, 65 of Montezuma, Iowa passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025 at his Montezuma farm home under hospice. A celebration of life will be held at the Pitman Pond at 4914 180th St. Montezuma, Iowa 50171 on October 18, 2025, beginning at noon lasting all afternoon and evening. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of the arrangements.

Joe Eric Pitman was born on January 31, 1960, in Grinnell to Rex and Evelyn Dee Pitman. He was raised on the family farm with three other siblings. Joe helped his father on the farm and attended school at Montezuma Community Schools. He then had a few mechanic jobs before starting his trucking career. He was an independent, over the road truck driver before joining Sully Transport for six years before retiring in 2021 due to health reasons. Joe was married to Natpaphatson "Pillow" Sriyongyot on March 5, 2016. He enjoyed fishing and hunting to Minnesota and Canada with his favorite lake being Lake of the Woods. Joe also enjoyed cars and was most proud of his 69 Camero and raved about his Tesla. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife shopping and attending Thai activities with their celebrations and food.

Joe is survived by his wife, Pillow of Montezuma; his daughter, Evie Pitman of Montezuma; his grandchildren, Paisley, Marlena and Magnus; his siblings, Scotty Pitman of Montezuma, Robert (JoAnn) Pitman of Florence, Montana, and Sandra (Charlie) Fry of Tombstone, AZ; as well as many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Evelyn Pitman.
