Joe Douglas Reed, 74, of Panther, WV, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division in Charleston, WV, following a short illness.

Doug was born September 5, 1951 in Panther, WV a son of the late Elzie and Lila Justice Reed.

In addition to his parents Doug was preceded in death by his wives, Lucille Matney Reed and Nargie Jean Matney Reed; two brothers, Ricky and Timmy Reed; and four sisters, Bernice Cline, Mildred (June) Collins, Kathleen Reed and Susan Reed.

Survivors include his daughter, Geanette Joetta Reed; one son, Jody (Kelly) Reed, one stepson, Mark (Missy) Matney, four grandchildren, Leanne and Joe Reed and Ryan and Sonny Prater; four great grandchildren and one brother, Micky Reed.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11 o'clock with Elder David Lester, Elder Danny Hurley, Elder Roy Lester and Elder George Thomason officiating at the Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church in Guesses Fork, VA. Burial will follow in Iaeger Memorial Park in Roderfield, WV. Pallbearers will be

family and friends.

Friends may visit with the family at the Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church in Guesses Fork, VA starting Thursday evening, February 5, 2026 after 6 p.m. Friends may also call at any time on Friday, February 6, 2026. An evening service will be held each evening at 7 o'clock.

Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger is assisting the family.
