Harry "Joe" Schamp
January 1950 - September 2023
Hay Springs, Ne- Joe Schamp, 73 passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2023 in Chadron, NE. Joe was born January 22, 1950 in Spaulding, Ne to parents Harry W. and Orvetta (Crumrine) Schamp.
Joe graduated from Burwell High School in 1968. Following graduation, he enlisted with the United States Army. Joe served his Country from 1969 until being Honorably Discharged in 1971. Following the Military, Joe went to school to receive his Diesel Mechanic Degree. He worked construction, became an OTR Truck Driver for several years as well as hauling rock.
Joe enjoyed everything outside. Hunting, fishing, camping, and trial riding with the SxS. He loved every opportunity he was able to spend time with family.
Joe was proceeded in death by his parents Harry & Orvetta, sister Sandy Cook, brother Chuck Schamp, son Michael Wright as well as many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins that spent their whole lives growing up together.
Joe is survived by his beautiful wife Ronda Schamp, sister Cathy Kennedy, Father and Mother in Law Don & Rosalie Ross, Sister in Laws Jean (Lance)Thomas, Lenny Jo Ross daughters Tammie Schamp and Jennifer Schamp, sons Emory Schamp and Andy Burleigh. Grandchildren Shantanniea Wright, Tina (Ernesto) Covarrubias, Justin Coffin, Noel (Nathan) Hinges, Kayla (Mason) Stansberry, Robin (Lily) Wright, Julian Gonzales, Garrett Wright, Riley Wright, Jacob Wright, Aspen Schamp, Elijah Burleigh and Abigail Burleigh. Great Grandpa to Casen and Bellamy, Harper, Geronimo, Gabriella, Christian, Jacklyn, Michael, Adrian, Isaac and unborn baby boy Ari to Nathan and Noel Hinges. Along with many nieces and nephews whom he adored.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the United Methodist Church, 340 N Miller St; Hay Springs, Ne on Friday September 29, 2023 at 10am. There will be a luncheon to follow.
